I really enjoyed the previous book – The Demon’s in the Details – in this urban fantasy series and have been looking forward to this sequel featuring sassy, snarky cat shifter, Carter. – Caz

With Mal recuperating after the events of the previous book, Seong Jae has to go it alone on the case of the supposedly accidental death of a husband and father. And just when we thought their personal relationship was starting to move forward – **sound effect of a screeching record** . Just as well I like the angst… These stories are dark, gritty and not for the faint of heart, but they’re clever and twisty, and two leads are compelling. I’m completely hooked. Curt Bonnem’s narrations in the books I’ve listened to so far have been really good, and his characterisation of the two leads is perfect; I can’t wait to get stuck in to this new one and will definitely be continuing with the series in audio. – Caz

Nazri Noor is putting out books faster than I can listen to them! This is the sixth book in the Arcane Hearts series, and things are heating up in the brewing war between the Fae and Grayhaven, and Jackson and Xander are caught up in the middle of it as they search for King Oberon. Zachary Johnson is an excellent narrator – I just need to find the time to catch up!! – Caz

I had a few reservations about the first book in this series, but I enjoy Nazri Noor’s humour and the world of the Arcane Underground (and of course, I’ll always listen to Greg Boudreaux!) so I’m going to give this second instalment of Wild Hearts a go. Locke collects his inheritance, Sylvan is… well, Sylvan and there’s a deadly curse to fight. Should be fun! – Caz

I read an ARC of this and loved it. It’s the first in a series of contemporary paranormals set in an AU where empaths exist and are seen as a major threat to society. When a prominent proponent of a draconian anti-empath bill is murdered, empath Reece Davis receives an anonymous phone call telling him his sister – a detective with the Seattle PD – needs his help. The story hits the ground running from the first page and I was gripped until the end. One note – despite being published by a romance publisher and marketed as a romance, this book isnt one. The author is clearly setting up a very slow burn – there’s a slight but definite and delicious tension between the two leads – but there’s not even an HFN in sight by the end. it’s a great story though, and I love a slow burn so it’s right up my alley. With the fabulous Joel Leslie narrating, it’s a great bet in audio, too. – Caz

I just bought the third Arcane Hearts book, so I have some catching up to do, too. Fun series, though! Definitely have Liar City on my radar, and I’m happy Joel is narrating it.
Radio Static interests me, too. I forgot about your review of The Demon’s in the Details, Caz, so I’ll file that info away, too. I own a copy of Wolfsong (haven’t listened to it yet) on audio, so I’m assuming it’s got a new narrator? I couldn’t find any info, but it said it would be released in Oct 2023 on Audible.
I don’t know anything about Pool of Dreams authors, but Greg Boudreaux is a plus. Michael Dean is the second narrator.

Wolfsong is, as far as I know, simply a reissue, so it’s still Kirt Graves narrating. My understanding is that the series was originally published by Dreamspinner, the rights reverted to the author (or he requested them back in the wake of DSP not paying their authors) and now they’re being re-released by Macmillan Audio. I think it’s coming out in the UK this month though – sometimes transatlantic release dates don’t marry up!
I reviewed Demon’s in the Details for a TBR challenge post at AAR, so it’s one of the rare reviews that’s there and not here!
I’ve enjoyed a couple of Sam Burns’ books before but haven’t read any of the collaborations with WM Fawkes – Michael Dean is a bit hit and miss for me – he’s good, but can be a bit overdramatic for my taste – but with GB narrating as well, I might give it a go.
