With so many new releases every week, it can be easy to become overwhelmed by the sheer number of them, so we hope that our selections will help you to find some new favourite listens. The One Who Loves You by Pippa Grant

Being a big fan of Sebastian York’s narrations and having my interest piqued by the blurb, which hints at a star-crossed romance between a Sex in the City heroine socialite and a small town hero, I’m adding The One Who Loves You to my July TBL! – BJ

Breaking Cover by Kaje Harper
Narrated by J.F. Harding
The second book in Kaje Harper’s Life Lessons series, Breaking Cover picks up around a year after the events of book one and finds Tony struggling with the constant need for secrecy and Mac in denial about the need to make a change. This one was released at the end of June and I listened to it in a couple of sittings, it’s THAT good. The story is compelling, the characters are wonderfully endearing and J.F. Harding’s narration is utter perfection. – Caz
Always Be My Duchess by Amalie Howard
Narrated by Mary Jane Wells
Pretty Woman is my favourite romcom so when I heard this book was inspired by it AND Mary Jane Wells is narrating – well, it’s a no-brainer. – Kaetrin
Temporary Partner by Nicky James
Narrated by Nick J. Russo
The first in a new romantic suspense series from Nicky James, Temporary Partner features a classic opposites-attract/grumpy-sunshine pairing of two detectives in different divisions of the Toronto PD who end up working together on a high-profile missing persons case. I read it when it came out earlier this year, and loved it, so I’ll definitely be going back to it in audio – Nick J. Russo is one of my favourite narrators, and is sure to do a great job. – Caz
Beautifully Unexpected by Lily Morton
Narrated by Joel Leslie
A lovely story featuring two more mature leads (late forties, early fifties) who have been around the block a few times and are content with their lives as they are – until they meet each other and the sparks fly. – Caz
A Velvet Glove by Nazri Noor
Narrated by Zachary Johnson
I’m really enjoying this light-hearted urban fantasy series about the ongoing adventures of snarky artificer Jackson Pryde and his frenemy-turned-lover Xander Wright. The stories are fast-paced and action-packed with a nice side of steam, and Zachary Johnson’s narration is a delight. – Caz
The Doctor by C.S Poe
Narrated by Declan Winters
One of my most highly anticipated books and audiobooks of 2022, I can’t wait to listen to this third instalment in the Magic & Steam series, especially after book two (The Gangster) ended on a massive cliffie! I read the book when it came out a few months back – it’s a contender for my Best of 2022 – and from the snippets I’ve heard, Declan Winters is going to do a fabulous job with the narration. – Caz
Bet on It by Jodie Slaughter
Narrated by Angel Pean
I’ve heard good things about this author and the blurb made me laugh so I decided to give this one a go. – Kaetrin

Having enjoyed Julia Whelan’s authorial début, My Oxford Year, and enjoying her narrations, I was thrilled to see a book that she’s both written and narrated releasing in July. Even better it’s a romance that involves an audiobook narrator! – BJ
Other New and Upcoming Releases
I picked up Beautifully Unexpected on audio and Joel is wonderful with the slight Danish accent for Mags. I enjoyed it in print, but I’m liking it even more with Joel bringing the characters and humor to life.
Both my husband and I are looking forward to reading The Doctor, but I’m not sure if I’ll do that in print or on audio, since I’ll be buying the ebook for my husband to read anyway. We’ll see! I would love to get Temporary Partner on audio. I really enjoyed it in print. I’m on the fence about Breaking Cover. I liked the first book, but didn’t love it. And I STILL haven’t gotten around to the Nazri Noor books! It’s on my list, though! I just saw that my library has House on Fire on audio. It’s another one I’m uncertain I’ll get on audio.
