  1. I listened to The Christmas Leap by Keira Andrews. I love Greg Boudreaux but as Caz said in her review, his Scottish accent didn’t work. I gave it a C+ overall. The story didn’t really work for me, either.

Next was the audiobook of The Gentle Art of Fortune Hunting by KJ Charles, narrated by Cornell Collins. I enjoyed it in print, but even more on audio. An A.

Now I’m listening to The Gilded Scarab by Anna Butler, narrated by Gary Furlong. I’m about a third of the way through and enjoying it quite a bit. Furlong is doing a wonderful job.

    1. I really enjoyed the Butler – I listened and wrote a review a couple of weeks ago, so hopefully, that will show up very soon!

I’m racing through the Death and the Devil novellas – and I finished the last one (Devil in the Details) just in time to get stuck into book two in the series, which came out today. I LOVE this series – the characters and the stories are so compelling – and the narration is really good, too. Reviews to come soon!

  2. I started the audiobook of Sailor Proof by Annabeth Albert. I’m liking it so far. Greg Boudreaux is excellent but not convinced by Joel Leslie’s narration yet.

    1. Joel Leslie is a terrific vocal actor, but I’m finding that I enjoy his English-accented narrations more than his American-accented ones. I did wonder if that’s because the first few times I heard him were in British books (in Alexis Hall and Lily Morton etc.), but there’s an added … throatiness? huskiness? to his tone when he’s using a US accent that I have to admit, doesn’t quite work for me.
