I’m listening to A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske, narrated by David Thorpe. I should love it. It’s got clever world building and good characters, but I’m bored. I can honestly say the narrator is very talented, but he is all wrong for the book. The descriptions and such are very well done, but the actual plot is moving slowly. I’m wondering if the author has spending a lot space setting up her world and magic system, and perhaps arcs for future books here. I’ve been really busy the past two day and haven’t listened much, and frankly, I’m not in a hurry to pick it back up. I’m much more engrossed in the books I’m reading in print right now.
