This week I listened to all three of Jay Hogan’s painted Bay series, and loved them even more on audio. Between those books I relistened to a couple of old favorites.
Next I was hoping to listen to one on the new In Vino Veritas books, like Wildfire (Garrett Leigh) and Counterpoint J.E. Birk), but I’m not sure about the narrators. Tim Paige is decent but not a favorite, and I’m not crazy about Dan Calley, who co-narrates Wildfire. He narrated Angels in the City by Garrett Leigh, which is one of my favorite books, and I wasn’t crazy about that one. I’ve only listened to Steven Dexter on Sarina Bowen’s Roommate, but I liked him. He co-narrates Counterpoint with Paige. I’m hoping the books will end up on Hoopla, then I might give them a try on audio.
I’m hoping to be able to review some of the new V&V books but they’re essentially self published and are harder to get hold of.
I’m not wild about Dan Calley either – Garrett Leigh is using hin for all her audios lately, which is a shame for me as I just can’t listen to him.
