  1. I am listening to a murder mystery, Death on Gokumon Island by Seishi Yokomizo. I’ve read a few of his books this year. I renewed my Audible subscription for 3 months at 99p. I thought about buying Charlie Adhara’s The Wolf at the Door but nobody seems to like the narrator and I read your review which wasn’t complimentary on his performance. It’s disappointing because the books are expensive which puts me off buying them.

    1. The Adhara series is fabulous, but yes, stick to.print – the narrator isn’t very good. The books were actually on sale (in the US) a few months back, so they do get reduced occasionally. Are libraries an option for you? A lot of my US friends get a lot of books and audiobooks that way, and are also able to ask their library to purchase certain books.

      1. My Irish library does not have a great selection of romance books in any form. I will continue to look out for sales in UK. But I did see they have a new series with Joel Leslie narrating coming out soon so I might use a credit for that and I see if I like the author’s style.

        1. I have the same problem here in England – local libraries aren’t great. I’ve reviewed Pack of Lies for All About Romance (the review hasn’t run yet – it will appear on 30th August) and it’s very good indeed – although I do think that you need to have read a few of the Big Bad Wolf books beforehand, or at least have a rough idea of how Eli – one of the main characters – fits in. (He was a secondary character in a couple of books in the previous series.)

  2. I spent most of last week and part of this week re-listening to Boyfriend Material in anticipation of Husband Material. I’m about 3/4 of the way through the latter, and am thoroughly enjoying being back in that world and the fantabulous narration of Joe Jameson. I made the mistake of reading some of the reviews on Audible and many of them indicate that the ending is going to be a disappointment. But for now, I’m on board.
