I’ve had a good week in audiobooks (and print). I listened to Temporary Partner by Nicki James, narrated by Nick Russo. It was just as fun as the book and the the narration was excellent. I then read the next book in the series in print and Wow! it was great.
Next was Breaking Cover by Kaje Harper, narrated by J.F. Harding. I think it’s the best narration I’ve ever heard from him. I’m glad I listened to you, Caz, and went for it. It was tough in spots but such and excellent story. I don’t know whether to go on to the third on in print now, or wait for the audio.
Today I finished Reading the Signs by Keira Andrews, narrated by Greg Boudreaux. After the emotionally packed audios and print books this week, I wanted something lighter, and Boudreaux at the helm made me pick this. It was a familiar story, but pretty well told. Perhaps a B- for the story, with a bump to B with the narration.
I have both Out of Character by Annabeth Albert and Spencer Cohen One checked out from Hoopla right now, so I’ll probably try one of those next.
I’m SO glad you enjoyed Breaking Cover – it’s on my list of potential Best of 2022 audiobooks! I listened to an interview JF Harding did on FB a few weeks ago, and he said he’d finished recording Home Work (book 3) so I’m expecting it to appear very soon, so I’m waiting for it! I’m pretty sure the author said somewhere that books 2, 3 and 4 should come out fairly close together. (fingers crossed).
Nicky James posted that the audio of Elusive Relations should be out in the second half of August – I loved the book, too. (I had an ARC and put my review in to AAR a while back, but for some reason it’s not appeared yet.)
That’s great news about Home Work. I’ll wait for the audio. I didn’t know there was a fourth book in the series! Yay! Harding completely knocked it out of the park, even his kid voices were great.
I’ll definitely get Elusive Relations on audio when it appears. My problem is waiting for book 3! Is this a trilogy, or longer, do you know? I think we could be in for a bumpy ride with the baggage these two have, but they are so good together, and the suspense plots have been wonderful. I looked for your review because I saw that you’d finished it. I’ll keep an eye out for it.
I’m not sure if the Valor & Doyle series is going to be more than 3 books, but I’ll try to find out.
I keep checking Audible for the Harper book – I’ll keep you posted!
