  1. I finished Josh Lanyon’s Murder Takes the High Road narrated by Gary Furlong just last night. I really enjoyed it. Solid B for me.

Earlier this week I listened to Crash Site by Rachel Grant, the second Fiona Carver book, narrated by two main narrators (same as the first book) and a 3rd narrator for couple of chapter. I thought it started very slowly and I honestly feel like Fiona and Dean both acted rather immature when it came to their relationship (a little overly dramatic with “I don’t have a heart to give,” and her with “I understand, but I have to have one night!”), but when the mystery got going I was all in. The main two narrators here are good, but not my favorite. I gave this a B, but I’m not sure I’m interested in going forward if there’s another book. I never really felt the chemistry between the leads.

I also listened to the third Lady Hardcastle mystery, Death Around the Bend. I love the narrator (Elizabeth Knowelden) for this series and the banter is fun. These are great little books to go to when I need a break from romance books.

Right now I’m relistening to Proper Scoundrel by Allie Therin, narrated by Joel Leslie. I borrowed it from the library originally, but got a copy off Chirpbooks a while back for a song. I knew it was one I’d want to relisten to.
