  1. This week I was all over the place. I started with Psalm for the Wild Built by Becky Chambers, narrated by Emmett Grosland. I gave the story and the narration B+, although both were very nearly an A. This is the story of a nonbinary monk, Sibling Das and their search for purpose. Their roaming lead them to meet Mosscap, a robot who is on a quest to find out what human’s need. there is a lot of interesting and enlightening discussion that ensues and plenty of wry humor. Sibling Das is a very relatable person with conflicts and flaws. It was really enjoyable. I liked Grosland’s narration, as well. This was a calm relaxing listen.

Next was Bitter Legacy by Dal Maclean, narrated by Gary Furlong. This was difficult for me because of the relationship angst, but I can see why it’s a 5 star read for many. The writing is superb and the suspense plot is very well done. It’s one of those books I’m really glad I read, even though I was a bit of an anxious mess for over half the book. I gave it a B+. I think Gary Furlong has some of the best character voices out there. Unfortunately I still hear the cadence when he reads the narrative passages and sometimes it distracts me.

Next was Role Model by Rachel Reid, narrated by Cooper North. I needed a familiar read after Bitter Legacy and I’ve been wanting to reread this before The Long Game, so it was an obvious choice. I enjoyed it as much or more this time.

Right now I’m listening to Color of You by C.S.Poe. My library had it and it’s been on my TBR list for a while now. And it’s Greg Boudreaux, after all. :-)
