  1. I listened to One Bite with a Vampire (Hidden Species 2) by Louisa Masters, narrated by Joel Leslie. I enjoyed the first book in the series, so I got the second while it was on sale at Chirpbooks. I bought the first one because it was cheap and had Joel narrating, and it worked out well. I enjoyed this book even more because I felt the romance worked better. There is a continuing plot line about a group trying to enslave humans that goes through all four books, but even if I don’t continue the series I’ve enjoyed the romances, the world building, and the part of the suspense plot we’re given. I’ll definitely continue if I can find the books on sale. Joel is wonderful, as always.

Next was Once Upon a Haunted Moor (Tyack and Frayne #1) by Harper Fox, narrated by Tim Gilbert. This was available on AudiblePlus, and I’ve wanted to try something by this author. I quite enjoyed this and plan to go on to the next one. Gilbert does a great job. My only quibble is his voice for Gideon is too old sounding.

I just finished Proper Scoundrels by Allie Therin, narrated by Joel Leslie Froomkin and I LOVED it. I thought the romance worked so much better than Arthur and Rory in Spellbound. I enjoyed these characters so much, and Joel hits it out of the park.

    1. I’m so glad you loved Proper Scoundrels – I’m making my way through her Magic in Manhattan books – enjoying them a lot but struggling with the narration, and very excited Joel Leslie will narrate the new series. I LOVED a Marvellous Light and can’t wait for more from her. I have also been meaning to try Harper Fox and will take your suggestion and try the Haunted Moor.

      1. I reviewed one of the Magic in Manhattan books in audio, but the narration was meh. The same narrator also ruined Charlie Adhara’s Big Bad Wolf books, too:(

I’ve reviewed some of the T&F books here if you want to check them out. The narration is pretty good.

      2. I haven’t read A Marvelous Light yet, but I’m looking forward to it. I’m glad you loved it. Overall the narration is very good and I’ve got the second one in my Audible library now. It’s also on Audible Plus, so that’s good. Quite a few of Harper Fox’s books seem to be on AP, so if I continue to enjoy her I’ll have lots to try.

    2. I’ve got the Therin on my TBL for review, but I have to pace myself with narrators I review a lot!

      1. I’m sure that’s a challenge with a narrator as prolific as Joel and a few of the other popular mm narrators seem to be these days.

        1. Oh, it is! I try to space out listens by the same narrator or push ones I’ve listened to recently to the back of the pile even when I really, REALLY want to listen to something. It can be very frustrating!
