  1. I’ve been doing a lot of relistening lately. This past week I’ve relistened to Rule Breaker and Deal Maker by Lily Morton, and I’m working through the Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries by Dorothy L Sayers on audio (just finished book 2, Cloud of Witness).

I listened to Daybreak by Kate Hawthorn (Vino and Veritas series), narrated by Kale Williams and Kirt Graves. The narrators were good but I didn’t like the book much.

I’ve also listened to part 1 and 2 of Red Dirt Heart by N.R. Walker, narrated by Joel Leslie. I’m absolutely loving the series. It’s very different from the Thomas Elkins trilogy due to the setting and characters, but it has that feel–not angsty but emotional and real feeling. These are good, ordinary people living life and making mistakes and trying hard to do right. I love the Australian outback setting and I’m learning a lot about the life and slang (I’m looking up so many words! LOL!). Joel Leslie does a wonderful job with the narration. I know he’s adding a lot to my enjoyment of the series. I don’t know if his Aussie accent is correct, but it sounds good to me, and he does a wonderful job with the Texas accents. It’s one of my favorite narrations by him, and that’s saying a lot.

    1. I’ve read (some of) the Red Dirt Heat series and enjoyed it – haven’t listened to it though. It’s another of those “one day, when I get a minute” things!

      1. I know you’re crazy busy, but given that you’re a fan of Joel Leslie, I think you’ll really enjoy this on audio. I love Joel anyway, and this seems to be one of those perfect combos of story and narrator, at least for me. Now I just have to wait until Oct to listen to the rest because I’m out of Hoopla loans for this month! :-)
