  1. I started the week with Silver in the Wood, a short story and part of the Greenhollow Duology by Emily Tesh. It was good, but not quite what I expected. Lyrical language and a great narration by Matthew Lloyd Davies, but I wasn’t inclined to go on to Drowned Country at the end of this one.

I listed to High Heat by Annabeth Albert and narrated by Iggy Toma next. It was fun and I’ll probably go o to book three this week. I also listed to the third book of the Boundary Magic urban fantasy series by Melissa F. Olson and narrated by Kate Rudd. Rudd’s narrations, which were always good, seem to be getting better. Either that or her voices are now fixed in my mind for the characters, because I enjoyed her even more in this book, Bounday Born. Boundary Born kept up the enjoyable storytelling and world-building of the previous books. Lots of action and good characters. Though far from the central focus, there is a relationship (closed door) between two main characters.

My squee for this week is Not Dead Yet by Jenn Burke, narrated by Greg Boudreaux. I found out about it here and my library has it,so I tried it this week. I basically finished it in a day. It’s so much fun. I’ve got Give Up the Ghost queued up for my next listen.

I’m interested in your take on Winter’s Orbit, Kaetrin. It looks promising.

    1. I’m so glad you enjoyed Not Dead Yet – I love Wes and Hudson! It’s such a great series and Greg is fantastic in it. The first book in the follow-up series (which will star Evan) is coming out in April (I think) and the audio will be narrated by Tim Paige, who is excellent. You’re so lucky you have such a great library – I don’t think my local library has much romance at all.

Annabeth/Iggy is one of my favourite author/narrator combinations :) Hotshots #4 is coming at the end of April as well; if you haven’t already listened, I’d recommend her Frozen Hearts series, too (I’m pretty sure that between us, Kaetrin and I have reviewed them all). Cooper North narrates book one, but Iggy does the other two.

      1. Oh yes! I’m on board for a series about Evan. That’s great news. I’ll definitely try out Frozen Hearts, too. I’m pretty sure I’ve listened to Cooper North before and thought he was good, but Iggy is great and seems to get Albert’s style.

        1. Cooper North narrated Rachel Reid’s Common Goal and also did At Attention (the second book in Albert’s Out of Uniform series. I haven’t listened to him loads, but I do like his work.
