Our April 2017 Picks

As well as the famous showers, April promises some good listening – as the Gals have discovered in choosing which audiobooks we’re most looking forward to listening to in the near future. Some of these titles are already available, some are coming out later in the month, but in each case, our choices are based on a variety of factors; author, narrator, story… or just gut instinct. Are any of these on your wish list? Have you listened to any of them and if so, what did you think? Have we missed out anything you’re looking forward to? Join in the discussion in the comments.

Snared by Jennifer Estep

Narrated by Lauren Fortgang

Though I’m not quite caught up with the Elemental Assassins series, I was thrilled to see that the latest installment (book 15!) in this series, Snared, releases this month. Sporting a great storyline and narration, I look forward to continuing my journey through this PNR series soon. – BJ

The Elemental Assassin is one of my very favorite urban fantasy series. The central relationship is great. The world-building is amazing. The plot hasn’t gotten old, even though this is the sixteenth entry in the series. Lauren Fortgang masterfully brings the characters to life. Can you tell I’m excited about this one? – Shannon

Slightly Dangerous by Mary Balogh

Narrated by Rosalyn Landor

And here we are – Wulf’s book at last.  He’s been a strong background presence throughout the other books in the series; the patriarchal, authoritarian brother who is always proper and terrifies anyone who dares stand up to him by the mere movement of his quizzing glass.  Rosalyn Landor’s work throughout this series has been amazing, and I’m sure this instalment will not disappoint. – Caz

The Hangman by Mary BurtonThe Hangman by Mary Burton

Narrated by Christina Traister

I admit, I’ve chosen this solely because I so enjoyed listening to the previous title in the Forgotten Files series, The Dollmakerand I’m hoping for more of the same; a well-constructed, complex plot, engaging characters and excellent narration. – Caz
