  1. I listened to A Pack of Lies by Charlie Adhara, narrated by Joel Leslie, earlier this week and loved it.

I then listened to A Boyfriend for Christmas by Jay Northcote and narrated by Hamish Long. The narration was quite good, and I enjoyed the lighthearted story, but even though I can do low angst, I’m not a fan of every obstacle getting swept away with little or no tension. Still, it’s a fluffy Christmas piece with good characters and a good narration, so it has it’s merits.

I decided to switch things up a bit so I’m finally listening to the 4th Stariel book by A.J. Lancaster, King of Faerie. It’s narrated by Fiona Hardingham, while the first three books were narrated by Finty Williams who I thought was great. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice the narrator switch, and I’m not as happy with the new one. She’s good, but her delivery is a bit flat. I finally checked because I remembered loving Finty Williams. I’ll learn to be more observant next time.

    1. I’ve listened to Finty Williams in the past (I can’t remember what in, though!) – I remember thinking that with her pedigree (mum Judi Dench, dad Michael Williams) she should be good – and she is!

Glad you liked the Adhara – I loved the book and can’t wait for the sequel which I think is out next April.

  2. By the way, BJ, I hope you’re going to review Overkill because I’m very interested to hear how you like it and the new-to-me narrator.
