Our November 2016 Picks

I’m desperately trying to work out how it can possibly be November already, and wondering where on earth the rest of 2016 has gone! (editor’s note: I’m still wondering where 1998 went) But while I do that, here is our regular look at the month’s new and upcoming audiobook releases. Some of these are already available, some are coming later in the month, but in each case we’ve based our choices on our opinions of authors, narrators… and sometimes just gut instinct. What November titles have you enjoyed so far, or are you looking forward to listening to? Stop by and tell us in the comments.

duke-of-pleasure-audioDuke of Pleasure by Elizabeth Hoyt

Narrated by Ashford MacNab

I’ve been really enjoying the Maiden Lane Series and can’t wait to listen to the next one – BJ

I confess that I’ve already read and enjoyed the story a great deal.  Even though I’ve started to find Ms. Macnab’s narrations a bit “samey”, there’s no denying that she really gets Ms. Hoyt’s characters and unique style. – Caz

Two Hoyt titles in a year is a wonderful thing. She left a teaser at the end of Duke of Sin that was downright mean! but I’m glad we don’t have long to wait to get Alf’s story. Alf has been a mystery for several books now and I’m glad we finally get to know the truth. – Diana

someone-to-love-audioSomeone to Love by Mary Balogh

Narrated by Rosalyn Landor

I’m looking forward to listening to Someone to Love, a new historical romance from this powerhouse writer/narrator duo – BJ

Rosalyn Landor really is the perfect narrator for Mary Balogh’s stories, so a new release from them is always a red-letter day.  I like a good rags-to-riches story and the promise of an unusual hero is a big draw. – Caz

lady-maggie-audioLady Maggie’s Secret Scandal by Grace Burrowes

Narrated by James Langton

Still catching up with the Windhams – this is the story of Lady Maggie – illegitimate daughter of the Duke of Moreland – and the gentleman investigator we’ve met in previous stories. I’m really enjoying my visits to Burrowesworld in the company of James Langton :-) – Caz

tru-blueTru Blue by Melissa Foster

Narrated by Paul Woodson

I’ve heard great things about this author and this book and the sample sounds good. I’ve been listening to so much Sebastian York lately (I’m not complaining) but I really need to branch out and find more go-to male narrators. Maybe Paul Woodson will be one? – Kaetrin

the-operatorThe Operator by Kim Harrison

Narrated by January Lavoy

Kim Harrison’s The Drafter was one of my favorite books of 2015. I loved the action-packed sci/fi feel and the slow burn romance. The Operator is its sequel, and it promises to be just as good as its predecessor. January Lavoy’s skilled narration is sure to add an additional layer of enjoyment. – Shannon

fate-of-the-tearlingThe Fate of the Tearling by Erika Johansen

Narrated by Polly Lee

Erika Johansen’s Queen of the Tearling series has received quite a bit of buzz over the past couple of years. The Fate of the Tearling is the trilogy’s conclusion, and I’m sure fans are on pins and needles to see how things will turn out. I’m a fan of Polly Lee’s narrations, so I’m sure this will be a delightful listen. – Shannon

hot-secretsTall, Dark, & Deadly Series by Lisa Renee Jones (4 separate books)

Narrated by Eric Michael Summerer and Susanna Jones (in Book 4 only)

Although I’m not familiar with Eric Michael Summerer, I’m a fan of Lisa Renee Jones’ romantic suspense titles, so I’m looking forward to listening to this series. – BJ

steal-meSteal Me by Lauren Layne

Narrated by Avalon Kingsbury.

I enjoyed Cuff Me, which I reviewed here at AudioGals and I was happy to see this one is available on audio. Even though Cuff Me is book three and Steal Me is book two, but whatever. – Kaetrin

archangels-heartArchangel’s Heart by Nalini Singh

Narrated by Justine Eyre

Hello insta-buy! Nalini Singh’s lyrical writing is complemented well by Eyre’s talent for accents. And the blurb gives a marvelous hint that the trouble they face may stem from Elena’s family history. I just got chills! – Diana

holiday-with-a-twistHoliday with a Twist by Shannon Stacey

Narrated by Samantha Cook.

I love Shannon Stacey books – I can’t wait to get started on this one. – Kaetrin
