Welcome to our newest reviewer Diana! She’s been hanging out with a number of us Gals for the past few years over at the Romance Audiobooks Goodreads group so we were thrilled when she answered our latest call for new reviewers. We’re running Diana’s first review today, Night Shift, an anthology from Nalini Singh, Ilona Andrews, Lisa Shearin, and Milla Vane.
Diana is a former romance blogger who discovered her first romance at the age of fifteen – Jude Deveraux’s The Raider – and happily gave up John Grisham and Anne Rice without looking back. Historical romance remains her first love but, thanks to Christine Feehan and Nora Roberts, paranormal and contemporary romance occupies a spot right alongside it!
It has only been in the last few years that her romance reading transitioned from print to audio. Thanks (again!) to another historical romance, Devil’s Bride by Stephanie Laurens. With this one book, she understood what an amazing narrator can do for a story.
Although romance audiobooks remain her primary enjoyment, she can be found listening to a range of genres. Her only requirement is that a story entertains, has a hint of romance, and doesn’t give her nightmares! Her favorite audiobooks include Elizabeth Hoyt’s Scandalous Desires narrated by Ashford MacNab. Nalini Singh’s Angels’ Blood narrated by Justine Eyre, Gail Carriger’s Finishing School series narrated by Moira Quirk, Kevin Hearne’s Iron Druid Chronicles narrated by Luke Daniels, J.D. Robb’s In Death series narrated by Susan Ericksen, and Jeaniene Frost’s Night Prince series narrated by Tavia Gilbert.
Currently, Diana is a librarian and can be found sharing her love of romance and audiobooks to anyone who will listen! It still amazes her that she gets paid to spend her days converting introducing readers to romance.
