Introducing AudioGals Reviewer BJ!

Welcome to our newest reviewer – BJ! We’re thrilled to have her join us and, looking at her list of favorites, I believe she will add even more variety to our featured reviews each month. AudioGals has a page dedicated to her under Gal Friends – Our Fellow Reviewers – complete with her bio and a few of her favorite romance audiobooks. If you find her listening tastes match your own, you’ll want to keep your eye on her Reviewer’s page. Under Reviews on the menu bar, you will find Fellow Reviewers which expands to a list of reviews by reviewer. We’re running her first review today, Charlaine Harris’ Dead Until Dark, the first in the Sookie Stackhouse series. It’s her contribution to our current Month of Romance Audio Favorites.

And now for a more thorough introduction…

bjBJ has had a lifelong love affair with romance novels. It all began in her preteens with the discovery of the Sweet Valley High Series, and then later in her teens with historical romance novels which she secretly read under the covers until the wee hours of the morning! Although she took a break in her early adulthood, when the demands of establishing her career were all-consuming, three years ago she rediscovered her passion for romance novels through audiobooks. BJ credits the following bestseller paranormal/fantasy romances with renewing this spark: theTwilight Saga Series by Stephanie Meyers, the Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning and the Sookie Stackhouse Series by Charlaine Harris.

Today, you can still find BJ listening to a new romance adventure while at the gym, driving, cooking, or performing other household chores. Having given up on television (after all audiobooks can be so much more enjoyable, and you don’t have to wait a whole week to get the next hour’s installment!), she also frequently listens to audiobooks after the kids go to bed until she lulls to sleep. BJ knows she is listening to a 5-star read when she finds herself sacrificing her sleep until the wee hours of the morning to finish a book! Old habits die hard!

These days, BJ has broadened her listening horizons to include not just historical and paranormal/fantasy romances, but also just about every subgenre of romance novels, including contemporary, romantic suspense, and young adult dystopian romances. A few recent favorite listens, include The Kathleen Turner Series by Tiffany Snow, The Selection Series by Kiera Cass and Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase. I told you her interests were eclectic!

Now, page on down to read BJ’s review of Dead Until Dark – a favorite of mine as well!

  1. Welcome to audiogals. I’ve been contemplating the Selection series as well as the Tiffany Snow books for a while now. They look really intriguing.

I loved Sweet Valley high too, when I was a kid. I really wished I could have a life like the Wakefields.

I look forward to seeing more of your reviews.

  2. Thank you Shannon. I appreciate the warm welcome. I’m so happy to be a part of AudioGals! I have been following AudioGals for a while, and I absolutely love the content!

If you enjoy a good romantic suspense novel, I highly recommend The Kathleen Turner Series by Tiffany Snow. Ms. Snow is an amazingly talented writer with a true gift for bringing to life not just romance, but action, mystery, suspense and even humor! Her plots have so many twists that its impossible to predict the ending. Not to mention that this series has one of the best ever romance triangles! Add in a great narration by Angela Dawe, and this is a must listen! I, for one, can’t wait for Point of No Return, the last book in the series, which is scheduled to be released in May.

A very different kind of story, but nonetheless a story which I found immensely enjoyable, not to mention unique, is The Selection Series by Kiera Cass. These books are a cross between The Bachelor and The Hunger Games, and also contain a great love triangle (as you can tell by these top fave choices, I’m a sucker for a good love triangle)! Amy Rubinate’s narration is also fabulous, making this another series which is best listened to! I am highly looking forward to the last book in the series, The One, which is also scheduled to be released in May. May is going to be a big month for highly anticipated listens for me!
