Tempting You with Sound Clips

Our two samples demonstrate the effectiveness of Brockmann’s deep point of view (Monday, Suz will explain the concept in our recorded talk) as performed by Melanie Ewbank and Patrick Lawlor. Both clips are from Phoebe and Ian’s first meeting in prison where he is serving an 18 month sentence. Phoebe is one of two lawyers attempting to convince Ian to accept an early release from prison in exchange for leading an operation to rescue two kidnapped children held in a heavily guarded embassy.

I’m listening to Do or Die (four hours in) and finding myself completely entertained (and thinking Ian is one of those absolutely perfect heroes). A romance listener’s delight!

  1. The Trouble Shooters series got me into listening to audios. Truth! Flashpoint was given to me by a friend who knew I loved the series. It was a terrific beginning, now I am completely entrenched in the audio world. So many thanks to Suzanne Brockmann for creating such wonderful characters (Jules Rules!) and to Lawlor, Ewbank and Raudman for bringing them alive to readers. Best narrators in the biz!

Thanks Audio Gals for the giveaway and your terrific web site.

  2. LOVE LOVE the fact that the books are done with a male and female narrator!!! The pairing of Ewbank and Lawlor is a favorite!

  3. Thanks so much, AudioGals!

Patrick Lawlor and Melanie Ewbank are AMAZING — I love their interpretations of my books, particularly DO OR DIE!

I’m hoping we can introduce a lot of readers to the wonderful world of audiobooks!

    See you next week!

  4. Yea! I get to hear 2 of my most favorite narrators at their best! I love Patrick and Melanie and I can’t wait to hear this book! Suzanne … you are the best!

  5. Listening to the clip I get even more on the edge of my seat! “Martells best friend in the hospital?” Great job with the narration, but the clip makes me wish tuesday came a bit quicker.

  6. Knowing that Izzy was written so that Patrick could make him sound awesome, I picked up a three pack of izzy intensive audiobooks at B&N before a road trip. Only to figure out on the way that I hadn’t picked up DVDs but condensed versions with most of the Izzy stripped out. Oops! I usually read the books, although the ones I have have been listened to more than once and I might be road tripping soon and Do or Die would accompany me nicely. :)

    1. Oh, man, it’s SOOOO important, when buying an audiobook, to make sure you get the UNABRIDGED edition.

      Let me tell you why.

My books are LONG. Crazy long. Like 150,000 words or more. The UNABRIDGED version includes every one of those words.

ABRIDGED versions tend to be edited down to somewhere between 50 – 60,000 words. Crazy, huh?

FYI, there is NO “abridged” version of DO OR DIE! With the advent of audio downloads, abridged versions have become extinct, thank goodness!

      Love,
      Suz

  7. AudioGals, you guys rock!

  8. I am looking forward to hearing the audio version of Do or Die. Great author. Incredible narrators. Perfect combination! :-)

  9. Read the arc of the book for review and loved it. Can’t wait to listen to it! Will be getting it on Tuesday if I don’t win!

  10. I love listening to all your books! Great way to enjoy the stories and fall in love with the characters. Looking forward to Do Or Die!

  11. Another great giveaway :) Thanks AudioGals, this one is on my wish list whichever way it goes.
