Our best bets based on author, narrator, and possibly personal knowledge or print reviews of the story content. Or maybe it’s just a gut feeling…
The Best Man by Kristan Higgins
Narrated by Amy Rubinate
Our top pick for February, all three Gals are enthusiastic about The Best Man – the third Kristan Higgins audiobook. We can only hope there are many more to come. Lea rates Higgins as one of her favorite romance authors – regardless of sub-genre. Brenda recalls Amy Rubinate from a Jayne Ann Krentz performance which she calls “excellent.”
Crystal Cove - Lisa Kleypas
Narrated by Tanya Eby
We were a little cautious about the Friday Harbor series in audio after the narration of the third in the series, Dream Lake, proved to be a spectacular fail. However, Tanya Eby is back in the narrator’s seat with Crystal Cove, the fourth in the series. We know Tanya will do it right!
The Princes Trilogy by Elizabeth Hoyt. It’s been on our Gals’ Wish List and it’s finally here!
All the Gals love Elizabeth Hoyt. We’re especially excited about the release of her Princes Trilogy. We’re a little wary of new-to-us narrator Moira Quirk – she will definitely be under a microscope. But, the sound samples sound extremely promising!
The Raven Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt
Book 1
Narrated by Moira Quirk
The Leopard Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt
Book 2
Narrated by Moira Quirk
The Serpent Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt
Book 3
Narrated by Moira Quirk
Lord of Darkness by Elizabeth Hoyt
Narrator – To be announced
And then there’s another Elizabeth Hoyt treat coming later in the month – the simultaneous release of the audio and print version of Lord of Darkness, the fifth in the Maiden Lane series. A fan of the Maiden Lane series, Lea is especially looking forward to Lord of Darkness and hoping Ashford MacNab continues her narration of the series.
Alpha and Omega – Patricia Briggs
Narrated by Holter Graham
The enthusiasm for Briggs books narrated by Holter Graham seems to stay at a fever pitch. Brenda has had it preordered at Audible since she saw it had his name attached. She’s sure it will be worth every penny of $9.77 even if it is only 2 hrs and 25 minutes long. Finally all four audiobooks in the Alpha and Omega series are available with the same narrator and that equals SCORE!
Dark Desires After Dusk by Kresley Cole
Narrated by Robert Petkoff
Robert Petkoff combined with Kresley Cole – need I say more for paranormal romance audio fans?
Feral Sins by Suzanne Wright
Narrated by Jill Redfield
Book one in the Phoenix Pack series, Brenda tells us they have taken out that controversial chapter!
The Autumn Bride by Anne Gracie
Narrated by Alison Larkin
Brenda really enjoyed Gracie’s Merridew Sisters series. The Autumn Bride is Book 1 in the Chance Sisters series and although Brenda has heard mixed reviews on Alison Larkin’s narrations, it’s a February Pick for her.
