Our November Picks

What romance audiobooks releasing in November do we believe are especially promising? We feel these titles are all good bets based on author, narrator, personal knowledge, or print reviews of the story content. Or maybe it’s just a gut feeling we have.

rogue spy audio

Rogue Spy by Joanna Bourne

Narrated by Kirsten Potter

I’ve loved every single audiobook in Joanna Bourne’s magnificent Spymasters series, so saying that I’m looking forward to the release of Rogue Spy is an understatement of massive proportions! Ms Bourne’s complex, multi-layered, and intelligent writing has found an admirable partner in the form of Kirsten Potter – Caz

My recent listen of The Black Hawk really whetted my appetite for this book. I’ve read an early copy and I just know it’s going to be great on audio too. Bourne’s prose is so beautiful it is such a pleasure to read and hear – Kaetrin

This author/narrator combo is masterful. I can’t wait for another instalment – Shannon

I know this one will be a hit – I just feel it. And the audio version has the extra boost from Kirsten Potter – Lea

His at NightHis at Night – Sherry Thomas

Narrated by Kate Reading

This is my absolute favourite Sherry Thomas book. When I saw that it was coming out on audio and Kate Reading was narrating, my squee levels went out of  control. I am seriously bouncing up and down with excitement to listen to this one – Kaetrin

One of my favorite Sherry Thomas titles, I’m very excited about this one especially with Kate Reading who made audio magic with another historical favorite earlier this year – Loretta Chase’s Lord of Scoundrels Lea

Sherry Thomas is far and away one of my favourite authors in Historical Romance, so having some of her backlist coming to audio is a dream come true. And when I saw Kate Reading’s name attached to His at Night, I knew I could look forward to another audio treat – Caz

This was not my favorite of Sherry Thomas’ works, but Kate Reading will do a bang-up job of elevating it – Melinda

sweet release

Sweet Release by Pamela Clare

Narrated by Kaleo Griffith.

As an extreme Pamela Clare fan, I’m thrilled to see the audio release of the  Blakewlll/Kenleigh series. Carnal Gift is scheduled for release in December and the last in the series, Ride the Fire is slated for January. Once this series is published, Clare’s entire full-length book backlist will be available in audio format with the talented Kaleo Griffith narrating – Lea

I’m embarrassed to admit, but I have not yet had a chance to read or listen to any of Pamela Clare’s books. With the release of Sweet Release in audio, and given the great reviews Ms. Clare has garnered here at AudioGals, I’m clamoring to listen to this title. The fact that it is a historical set in America is the icing on the cake as I love adding variety to my more typical listens (which in HR tends to be of the European sub-genre) whenever possible – BJ

A DREAM TEAM PRODUCTION – I loved this in print – Melinda

Into thInto the Nighte Night by Suzanne Brockmann

Narrated by Patrick Lawlor and Melanie Ewbank

One of my favorite series narrated by my favorite narrator team (although I still want Melanie to step it up a little) – Melinda

I continue to be thrilled with these rereleases (with new narrators) of the first six books in Brockmann’s Troubleshooter series – Lea

black sheep princessThe Black Sheep and the Princess by Donna Kauffman

Narrated by Sebastian York

Back in the day I’ve enjoyed reading my share of Donna Kauffman titles though I admit it was narrator Sebastian York who convinced me to give her a try her in audio – Brenda

I have to give this a try. I don’t recall ever reading a Kauffman title but this IS Sebastian York and, to date, I have loved his narrations – Lea

bollywood affair

A Bollywood Affair by Sonali Dev

Narrated by Priya Ayyar

I recently read this one in print and my tweet stream tells me the narrator is very good. It’s a sweet romance which reads a lot like a Harlequin Presents novel and I loved the way the book portrays the diversity of Indian culture. I think it will be a lot of fun on audio as well – Kaetrin

aftertherain

After the Rain by Renee Caralino

Narrated by Abby Craden and Kris Koscheski

I’m not sure what to say about this except that the synopsis tugged at my heartstrings. The narrators are familiar to me, and, while they don’t top my favorites list, I’m confident in their ability to give this novel the emotional punch it deserves – Shannon

dirty rowdy thing

Dirty Rowdy Thing by Christina Lauren

Narrated by Shayna Thibodeaux and Sebastian York

Having generally enjoyed Sweet Filthy Boy (see my AudioGals Review), I’m looking forward to what promises to be a wild and sexy ride in Dirty Rowdy Thing, the standalone sequel in the Wild Seasons series. While Shayna Thibodeaux sometimes can lapse into a repetitive cadence that I am not a fan of, the addition of Sebastian York to the narrator cast is sure to improve the performance – BJ

endings beginnings

Endings and Beginnings by Nora Roberts

Narrated by Renee Raudman

Because Renee Raudman is narrating and I have a fondness for many of Ms Roberts series romances – even those written in the mid 80s – Brenda

greendark

Green Darkness by Anya Seton

Narrated by Heather Wilds

I’m crazy about historical fiction, and Ms. Seton has written some classics in the genre. Coupled with the talents of narrator Heather Wilds, this is sure to be excellent – Shannon

nightshift

Night Shift by Nalini Singh, Ilona Andrews, Lisa Hearin, & Milla Vane

Featuring Ilona Andrews’ Magic Steals

Narrated by Angela Dawe

I’m guardedly hopeful I’ll enjoy this listen without Renee Raudman giving voice to long running characters Jim and Dali. But I was impressed with Angela Dawe’s portrayal of Julie in the novella Magic Tests. And Ms Dawe is the voice of Nalini Singh’s Psy/Changeling world so I know I’ll enjoy Secrets at Midnight Brenda

one night deniedOne Night: Denied by Jodi Ellen Malpas

Narrated by Edita Brychta

I found One Night: Promised to be a sexy, psychologically intense and suspense filled romance. Given that it ended in one incredible mind bending plot twist, I can’t wait to see how Livy’s and M’s story continues to evolve in this second book in the One Night Trilogy. A narrator has not been announced, but this was an A+ story for me, so irrespective of the narrator it’s an auto-buy on my list – BJ

Enjoy your November listening!

1 thought on “Our November Picks

  1. Great month of books that I will be looking into. Have not read/listened to Pamela Clare’s Blaewell series but love Kaleo Griffith, and I am with Lea about Sebatioan York, so I will be trying the Donna Kauffman. Already have Dirty Rowdy Thing in my TBL. Does anyone have news on Kristen Ashley’s last Colorado series book, Kaleidoscope? Thought it was supposed to be available at the end of October. Thanks for your continued work on these books/audiobooks! I am a firm believer in the narrator “makes” a book when listening in audio.
