Giveaway (closed) – Laura Kinsale’s The Shadow & the Star

TSATS-2400x2400Last week, I finished listening to The Shadow and the Star and although almost a week has passed since finishing, I still can’t pull away from Samuel and Leda. I simply love this story and had to resist the urge to start listening all over again as the last minutes played.

Released on November 18th, The Shadow and the Star is Ms. Kinsale’s most recent audio title and I can’t keep myself from proclaiming to one and all, once again, that it is my favorite Kinsale in print. I have read it numerous times over the years and I’m thrilled to know my rereads in the future will actually be relistens with Nicholas Boulton doing the telling.

Now it’s time for the GIVEAWAY. We’re giving away five copies of The Shadow and the Star courtesy of the author through Audible. Entry is simple – just complete this easy entry form by midnight (CST) Thursday, December 5th.  No comments are necessary although we’d love to hear your thoughts in our discussion area. You may only enter once. We’ll contact you the morning of December 6th so watch your email as we must have acknowledgement of your win within 24 hours. If we don’t hear from you, we’ll select another winner. Bloggers and reviewers, we welcome your entry.

Later this week, I’ll be reviewing The Shadow and the Star so stay tuned for the details!

  1. I finished listening to Flowers From the Storm 5 minutes ago and loved it! It is my first Laura Kinsale and I’d love to listen to another one.

  2. I love historical romance. I’m so happy to see more audiobooks being recorded from that genre! Thank you for the giveaway!

  3. Listening to Merlin’s story right now, so wonderful to revisit all my favorite Kinsale titles through these amazing audiobooks; if I didn’t love them before – I sure would now ;)

Lynn – I’m kind of jealous of the fact you are just staring Laura’s books – you have such a treat in store for you!

Lea – Your review of Shadow and the Star has made this a must buy (who am I kidding, I was planning to buy it anyway! I’d love to win, but if I don’t this will be my next audible purchase!) Back in high school (longer ago then I want to think about) I let a friend borrow my paperback copy of Shadow & the Star and never saw it again…yes, I’m still a little bitter!

  4. Listened to Flowers From the Storm and loved it. Just finished listening to Carolina Home by Virginia Kantra. Now listening to the second book in this series, Carolina Girl. Don’t know if you will review but a good listen.

  5. Flowers from the Storm was my first Kinsale book and I was hooked! This is one of the most well-written works of fiction I’ve read in a long time while still remaining enjoyable and captivating. Laura really has a way with words!

And Nicholas Bolton! … I can’t think of anything to say except that I’ll gladly grovel at his feet if he’ll just keep reading to me! He has the perfect voice for Kinsale’s novels.

Since Flowers from the Storm, I have also read The Prince of Midnight and The Dream Hunter. Honestly, I’m not known for my tolerance of delayed gratification, but I have deliberately spaced out my purchase of and reading of Kinsale’s books so that they don’t run out too soon. Otherwise, I’d devour them all in a month and be left with nothing else to read of that caliber. I think I can hold out till December 6th to see if I’m the lucky winner of one of the 5 copies of The Shadow and the Star, but if not, then I’ll be purchasing it on December 7th!

  6. Great giveaway! I’m not entering since I bought The Shadow and the Star the very minute it was out. I did this with all the previous audiobooks by Laura Kinsale narrated by Nick Boulton. Simply amazing!!!
