  1. Buying the audiobooks through audible is just easy, plus is stores them so nicely on my iPod touch. I don’t have to go through the resetting of info in iTunes to get the book in my “books” folder instead of music folder. Books I download from other sources are in a different place on my iPod, they don’t have the cover photos either.

And I really dislike ripping CDs onto the computer and manipulating the info for each CD in order to link the tracks on each CD then link all the Cds as part of a whole. it’s boring and I’m lazy.

(My sincere apologies and undying admiration goes to Brenda for all downloading, ripping, re-labeling and divvying up of books here at AG! You’re a saint.)

  2. I did not feel right filling out the form since I won a contest already this year.

I listen on a dedicated player (a tiny one that fits in my running pack for when I run or in my pocket for gardening) and I usually download from the library, although I do buy mp3 CDs or regular CDs occasionally and sometimes get stuff from Audible, since I have an actual account there now! Downloading is preferable since there is less effort required.

  3. 70% library but recently joined audible because romance titles aren’t as available through the library.

  4. Audible seems to be the only place for audio downloads in the UK although I’ve bought a few from Tantor recently. I’ve also borrowed one or two things on CD from the library, but had to rip so that I could transfer to my player. I’ve also used One Click Digital and Overdrive powered service from the local library, but they don’t have many titles I’m interested in listening to. Audible has sewn up the market here, but so far they’re providing a really good service, so I don’t mind that!

  5. Luckily I can belong to several libraries as a remote customer so get lots from them, as a last resort I use Audible but being in Australua the restrictions due to international zones limits my choice.

  6. I couldn’t fill out the survey because the options didn’t have the methods I use. Most of my downloading is onto my Kindle. I download only a few to my computer from Audible and OneClick. I get my audiobooks from Audible, about 25%, but also the library, about 75%. I try to keep my purchases from Audible to books I want to re-read at times and when I want to or books that aren’t available in the libraries I go to.

    1. Thanks Marian. We will make note of your preferences and use them in our final tally. Letting us know that your answers are “outside of the box” of this poll, is very helpful.

  7. I buy from audible and itunes, only books from authors or narrators that I love and know I will listen to multiple times. I will also buy books that are offered as specials on both sites. I am a big library user, but have never been able to get the books that download to move into itunes. I also still listen to library cd audiobooks and playaway versions to determine if it is something I want to buy.
